Recognizing Hip-Hop As a Powerful Source Of Development for Youth

RHAPSODY activities integrate hip-hop with building self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline while meeting basic curricular theories in music, art, poetry, and dance.

Students perform on turntables, write rhymes, create letter-based art, and dance.

The activities are designed to improve students' critical thinking and critical listening skills.

The program demonstrates how hip-hop can be a positive and productive form of creative self-expression.
