RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp
(Recognizing Hip-Hop As a Powerful Source Of Development for Youth)

The annual RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp is two-week intensive program that features hands-on workshops that allow students to learn more about the history and aesthetic expressions of hip-hop culture: DJing, MCing (rapping), dancing, and graffiti art. The program culminates in a dynamic performance the last day of camp! The RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp was recently included in the World Almanac for Kids as a featured "fun camp." Music of My Mind Documentary Film Camp

Music of My Mind is a unique, intergenerational, three-week summer camp where students create their very own oral history documentary film. Students learn how to write, direct, produce and edit their own documentary while learning more about research and interviewing methods, intergenerational communication skills, teamwork and collaboration skills, and the latest in self-produced video-making technology. The program is presented in collaboration with Judson at University Circle and includes field trips to local film studios and photo archives. This program will not take place during summer 2008.
